Location: Earth Native Wilderness School, 137 Woodview Lane, Bastrop, TX, 21 miles from Aus-Bergs International Airport
Tuition: Adults: $200
Alumni: Previous workshop attendees $110
13 – 17 years old are $110
4 – 12 years old are $35
0- 3 years old free. Please supply their food needs.
Lunch Included
Come build and learn how to:
- Identify the best earthen clay soils
- Earthen bag walls with Raschel weave hyper adobe bags
- Install door and window bucks
- Electric and plumbing
- Permaculture design intro for Natural Building
Natural Plaster:
- Why plastering is one of the biggest expenses of the build and how to keep it in check
- Harvest and make your own Natural plasters affordably from local soils
- Apply straightening, scratch and finished plaster
- Magic of lime plaster
Field trip to the finished fully permitted Earthbag Dome house in Austin (time permitting)
Camping:
Limited camping available BE SURE TO REQUEST
$10/night per adult guest
Families with Children:
This will be a very busy 2 days and although we love to help families bring their children it may not be especially enjoyable for some children. We do not provide day care but will do our best to encourage kids to interact and help if they wish. We understand that parents will need to flow in and out to meet the needs of their kids. Kids often find playing and sculpting in the clay and being out in nature fun. Please send an email if you'd like to bring your kids so that we can do everything possible to help your family enjoy the week.
This workshop will have no more than 10 students per teacher. We tend to fill up, so register early to reserve your spot.
